Facial Redness

Relieve With Right Way

Facial redness is one of the most common symptoms of rosacea. This is caused by hundreds of tiny dilated blood vessels near the surface of the facial skin.

Facial redness can be caused be many factors, from hormonal imbalances, genetics or high levels of stress. Stress stimulates the sympathetic nervous system which can trigger these nerves to create vasoconstriction of bodies blood vessels, producing “flushing” upon the skin’s surface. Heavy sun exposure over time can weaken and damage blood vessels in the skin, making them susceptible to breakage.

Your facial redness cannot be totally cured, but it can be relieved by taking the right medications, staying out of the sun and not touching your face.

UV rays of light make your facial redness worse than it already is. The rays of light burn your skin, which irritate your and cause your skin to swell and turn more red. For facial redness, antibiotics are used for their anti-inflammatory effects rather than their ability to kill bacteria.

Consume balanced portions of alkaline and acidic foods in order to keep the pH of the body’s digestive tract balanced. Avoid extremes of hot and cold water temperatures, as to avoid vascular dilation.

Faired skinned and menopausal women are more likely to have rosacea. Rosacea also seems to run in families. Blood vessels under the skin of the face may enlarge and show through the skin as small red lines. The skin may be swollen and feel warm.

This flushing causes the face to appear red. Antibiotic lotions or gels can also help. Rosacea usually affects middle-aged people with fair skin.

Avoid touching your face. Go to your doctor for a facial cream to reduce the redness. Your doctor can prescribe a medication that will reduce the redness and inflammation on your face.
